Caregiver Support Program

Providing help and information for individuals working in Canada under under an LMIA, caregivers who have applied for previous programs (whether live-in or live-out), and those who wish to apply for the Home Care Workers Immigration Pilot.


Caregiver Support Program

The Caregiver Support Program is available for any person residing in Canada with a work permit issued under the Home Support Worker or Home-Based Childcare Provider categories under the Homecare Workers Immigration Pilot.


The program offers regular activities and information designed to reduce social isolation, promote wellness, and provide information and support for Canadian immigration processes.


Services Offered

The Caregiver Support Program offers a range of services and activities that support caregivers including:


  • Educational Resources:  Weekly workshops, training sessions, and informational materials to enhance caregiving skills.
  • Health and Wellness Programs: Stress management techniques, wellness activities, and self-care strategies.
  • Case Managment: Book one-on-one appointments to assist with your Permanent Residency (PR) application,      family reunification, PR renewal, citizenship application, employment insurance. We provide support with the PR application process to ensure caregivers can navigate it with ease.
  • Emotional Support: Access to support groups, counseling services, and peer networking opportunities.

  • Are services free?

    Yes all services are free and funded by the Federal Government.

  • What are the work experience requirements to qualify for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot?

    Applicants must have at least 6 months of work experience as a home care worker, which could include roles like personal home support worker or home child care provider. Relevant training is also acceptable if it is mostly in-person and lasts for a minimum of 6 months.

  • Do I need a job offer to apply for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot?

    Yes, you need a valid job offer from a Canadian employer to apply for the program.

  • Do I need educational qualifications to apply for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot?

    While a university degree is not required, having diplomas or certifications in fields such as personal care, nursing, or as an Early Childhood Educator or assistant is highly beneficial. Additionally, applicants who completed their education outside Canada must provide an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to verify that their qualifications are equivalent to Canadian standards.

  • What language proficiency requirements are there for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot?

    Applicants must meet a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of 4 in each category (speaking, listening, reading, and writing).

  • Can I bring my family with me when applying for the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot?

    Yes, qualified workers can bring their spouse and dependent children to Canada when applying.

  • Can I apply if I am already working as a caregiver in Canada on a temporary work visa?

    Yes, temporary workers who are already employed in Canada may be eligible to transition to permanent residency, as long as they meet the program’s requirements.
